The gallery holds over 300 icons and church utensils, some of which have not been displayed in public. The icons exposed are mainly from the late 18th and early 19th century, painted by iconographers who worked in the southeastern region of Bulgaria.
The emphasis of the exhibition are the two icons whose authorship has been determined – the icon of Alexander Popgeorgiev - St. 40 Martyrs, 1867 (IV niche) and the icon of Nicolas Odrinchanin - St. John the Baptist (VII niche).
